About Us

Wesley & Jammie Ackley

We began our journey together over 30 years ago. We have grown together in our faith and have been blessed with 4 beautiful daughters; 3 wonderful sons-in-law; and 9 amazing grandkids. We made the decision to follow a traditional family model, with Wesley working outside the home, while I embraced the role of homemaker. We have shared many endeavors during our life together, including running a successful general contracting company for over 20 years. Wes did all the physical work and I did all the bookwork. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has certainly been rewarding and fulfilling and we would do it all again. By the grace of God, and with prayers, laughter and tears we made it!

I am a 3rd generation quilter. Some of my fondest memories revolve around sitting under my grandmother’s drop-down quilt frame playing and watching cartoons while she quilted. I am passionate about handwork and all things vintage. I have always managed to find time to sew and craft no matter how chaotic life may have gotten. My love for quilting has grown and blossomed over the years. I do longarm quilting and have been quilting for the public for over 10 years. Before I got my first longarm, I had completed dozens of quilts on my domestic machine. My sister-in-law had a long arm. One day, I used it to finish one of my quilts. I was hooked! Wes encouraged me to get my own long arm and after much thought and many prayers I took the plunge and have never looked back. Helping people finish their projects brings me great joy. (I still have my first ufo. lol)

I have been fortunate enough to marry my love of quilting with the many types of activities. I have worked in brick-and-mortar quilt shops for over 15 years. I have been teaching for over 20 years and love helping people improve their skills. I have organized 30 retreats over the last 15 years. The retreats have been as small as 4 attendees (private teaching retreats) to as large as 28 retreaters. I have led mystery quilts, round robins and blocks of the month. Being a vendor and going to events has been something I enjoyed doing with my parents and still like to do to this day.

I have been a member of quilt guilds for over 25 years. I have been lucky enough to serve in numerous capacities: president, vice-president, program coordinator, librarian, challenge coordinator, block of the month organizer, boutique committee, and quilt show coordinator to name a few. I have participated in several charitable organizations including: QOV, guild raffle quilts, Habitat for Humanity, quilts and scholarships for life skills students, Children’s Homes, and various others. I have met so many wonderful people, many whom I am thankful to call friend.
